Batch Size Determination

Problem

Find the batch size and spray quantity in the VPC-66 for a process developed in LDCS-5.  Assume the coating efficiency in the VPC-66 is 85%.

Solution
Analysis of the Small Scale Process
Enter the tablet, batch, and equipment details in the process efficiency and bed properties windows for the current process. 

Change the equipment model from the equipment model list box:
Batch Size in the Large Scale
Determine the batch size by entering the final fill level in the large scale -- 95% in this case -- and pressing 'Update'.  Enter the coating efficiency value and press 'Calculate' to determine the spray quantity. 
Results
The batch size and spray quantity in the VPC-66 are 640 kg and 184 kg, respectively.
